Homer's Odyssey: Then and Now

A multi-disciplinary exploration of Homer's Odyssey in its ancient and modern contexts. The first part of the course immerses students in the epic narrative and in its ancient performative, archaeological, literary, and artistic contexts. Taking inspiration from Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' (2026), the course then considers the afterlife of Homer's epic as it has been reimagined in modern works of literature, art, and film.
