Taking the U.S. Senate action against Senator Elizabeth Warren as the starting point, the lecture discusses three plays of Euripides from the perspective of female resistance. What strategies do the heroines employ and towards what outcomes? The lecture will include discussion and images from Stanford Repertory Theater's recent production of Hecuba/Helen in California, and of Hecuba (Ekavi) in Athens, Greece.
