A graphic novel, "Theft! A History of Music" released partly based on Duke Professor William Johnson's work

Three professors at Duke Law School (James Boyle, Jennifer Jenkins and the late Keith Aoki ) have released a graphic novel laying out a 2000 year long history of musical borrowing from Plato to rap, using as a primary source for ancient music the work of Classical Studies professor William Johnson. For their narrative of ancient musical notation, they made extensive use of his article "Musical Evenings in the Early Empire: New Evidence from a Greek Papyrus with Musical Notation" and his ancient music website, and use an image of the actual  Greek papyrus here.
