How has being a Classical Studies graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Learning to parse language while seeing overarching literary themes and narratives has been immensely valuable to me as an attorney. The academic rigor of Classical Studies at Duke has also prepared me well for this career path."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Classical Studies programs? 

"I'd suggest exploring the applicability of ancient political systems/thought and mythology to current events, while also appreciating the classics as worthwhile in their own right. I think it's possible to do both."
