Readings in Latin Elegy, with special attention to the contemplation of human passions and vices within Roman culture and to Roman responses to Greek literary traditions. Authors might include Catullus, Tibullus, Propertius, Ovid, Horace, and Martial. Students must have two years of Latin or equivalent.
